Text description provided by the architects. The Kukrit Institute is part of the government‐led project to create quality places in the Bangkok city centre. The project site is located in a large parcel of land owned by the Treasury Department. The institute is named after former PM of Thailand, MR Kukrit Pramoj, who was named as a World Historic Important Figure by UNESCO in 2009. The Kukrit 80 Foundation initiated the project to celebrate the centenary of MR Kukrit’s birth. The institute was officially opened to the public by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the 20th April 2011.
